At 12:00 on 5th August, more than 300 fishing boats sailed out to Rudong sea area. After dozens of hours of offshore fishing, at about 10 am on 7th August, the first batch of fresh seafood transport vessels berthed at the shore fully loaded with seafood. The port, and the aquatic products trading market became lively again.

‘Influenced by previous typhoons, the production of the “first net” this year is slightly less than last year. In particular, the output of golden hook shrimp has decreased significantly.’ He Haijun, a shipowner, said with a smile while wiping away sweat. Although the production of ‘the first net’ is not as expected, the market conditions are pretty good. ‘The golden hook shrimp is small in quantity and the price is high, and the current wholesale price per jin is 60 yuan; the swimming crab is relatively affordable, and the price is more than 10 yuan per jin; the small yellow croaker is the most expensive among the catches of this boat, and the price per box is over 1,000 yuan.’

Xu Yun, a citizen who made a special trip, ordered two boxes of swimming crabs and one box of conger eels. ‘The elderly and children at home all like them, and I will give some of the extra to friends so everyone can enjoy them together.’

‘After the workers finish unloading, the ship will go out immediately, to ensure that it enters and exits one time every day.’ Chen Yixing, a shipowner, said.

“第一网”海鲜来了

    8月5日12时，如东海域300余艘渔船扬帆出海。在经过数十小时的海上捕捞作业后，8月7日上午10时许，首批运鲜船满载海鲜上岸，码头、水产品交易市场再次热闹起来。

    “受之前的台风影响，今年‘第一网’产量稍逊于去年，尤其金钩虾的产量明显减少。”船老板何海军一边擦汗一边笑着说，尽管“第一网”产量不如预期，但市场行情还不错。“金钩虾量少价高，当下每斤批发价在60元；梭子蟹相对亲民，每斤售价10多元；小黄鱼是这船渔获中最贵的，每箱售价上千元。”

    专程赶来的市民徐芸订购了两箱梭子蟹、一箱海鳗，“家里老人小孩都喜欢，多的给朋友送些，让大家一起尝尝鲜。”

    “工人卸完货后，船马上就出去，确保每天一进一出。”船老板陈贻兴说。
