On the afternoon of 20th October, a light helicopter took off from the old Nantong Port area, and the ‘Chongchuan — Pudong two-way low-altitude helicopter passenger normalization route’ officially ushered its maiden flight.

There is heavy traffic between Chongchuan and Shanghai. Driving takes 2.5 hours during off-peak hours and up to 6-7 hours during holidays.

The Chongchuan route will take off and land at the old Nantong Port, while the Pudong route will take off and land at the Xingye Flight Base. The route covers approximately 135 kilometers, with a one-way fare of 698 yuan (flight time is approximately 48 minutes), reducing travel time to approximately 30% of the fastest ground transportation options. After arriving at the Xingye Flight Base, passengers can enjoy a shuttle service that takes them directly to Pudong Airport.

The unique charm of the flight lies not only in its speed but also in its cultural and tourism features. Taking off from Chongchuan, the plane enters a low-altitude sightseeing mode, offering panoramic views of the Nantong riverside area, Nantong Langshan National Forest Park, the ancient Guangjiao Temple, and even the distant Pudong skyline and Disneyland.
