Recently, the ‘Seven-Colour Dragon Treasure’ blue calico plush toy was shortlisted for the ‘2025 Yangtze River Delta Souvenir’ list. ‘As participants, we are also very glad.’ The craftsmen at Cao Yuxing Workshop said.
‘The inheritance of the blue calico shall not only preserve traditional craftsmanship, but also adapt to modern lifestyles.’ Jiang Rong, the fifth-generation successor of Cao Yuxing Dyehouse, said.
In June 2025, the Erjia Blue Calico Experience Station was shortlisted in the first batch of Jiangsu Consumer Education Experience Stations. It is no longer just a ‘museum’ that presents craftsmanship, but a multi-functional space that integrates consumer education, hands-on experience, and cultural and creative products research and development.
Through online live streaming, the experience station has achieved ‘online traffic diversion and offline experience’ or direct online consumption. Offline, it offers guided tours and hands-on experiences to citizens, students, and tourists, attracting international visitors such as Japanese cultural exchange groups and Russian students. It has received over 10,000 visitors in total, and within six months of its establishment, it has boosted product sales by 200,000 yuan.
