On 9 March, the reporter found that sea tapertail anchovy quietly hit the market at Duanpingqiao Farmers Market and some aquatic product wholesale markets.

At Duanpingqiao Farmers Market, many seafood stalls were filled with white styrofoam boxes, with rows of silvery-smooth sea tapertail anchovy neatly placed. ‘Now is the best time to eat tapertail anchovy— it’s at its fattest and most plump.’ A seafood vendor enthusiastically explained that currently, depending on size, the retail price of medium-sized sea tapertail anchovy is around 130 yuan per kilogram, while the price of large sea tapertail anchovy weighing over 100 grams ranges from 400 to 600 yuan per kilogram.
