On the evening of 9 April, at the 2026 World Para Powerlifting Asia and Oceania Championships, Gu Xiaofei, a disabled athlete from Nantong, won four gold medals.

The competition kicked off in Bangkok on 7 April, bringing together 249 athletes from 23 countries to compete. On that evening, Gu Xiaofei delivered an outstanding performance in the men’s 80 kg event, and won the Asian category championship, the Open category championship, the Asian total championship, and the Open total championship. He successfully lifted 221 kg, 226 kg, and 227 kg across his three attempts, for a total of 674 kg.

Gu Xiaofei is 37 years old, born in Nantong. At present, he is a member of the National and Jiangsu Provincial Disabled Weightlifting Teams.
