On 18 May, ‘Xue Long 2’ polar research icebreaker returned to China and arrived in Shanghai. Our 42nd Antarctic expedition concluded successfully. Zhao Jing, a teacher from School of Nautical Technology and Wang Fulin, a teacher from School of Marine Engineering of Jiangsu Shipping College returned with the ship.

The expedition team set out from Shanghai on 1 November 2025. The trip lasted 199 days. The voyage is about 35,000 nautical miles.

In the expedition, Zhao Jing was responsible for navigation watch in complex polar waters and navigation in ice-covered areas as the pilot of ‘Xue Long 2’. Wang Fulin, as the engineer, safeguarded the stable operation of the power system in the engine room.

Up to now, Jiangsu Shipping College has sent in total 12 teachers to participate in Arctic and Antarctic scientific expeditions.

我国第42次南极考察圆满结束

江苏航院两名教师随船凯旋

5月18日，“雪龙2”号极地科考破冰船返回国内抵达上海，我国第42次南极考察圆满结束。江苏航运职业技术学院航海技术学院教师赵晶、轮机工程学院教师王富林随船凯旋。

考察队自2025年11月1日从上海出发，历时199天，航程约3.5万海里。

在此次考察中，赵晶作为“雪龙2”号驾驶员，承担了极地复杂水域的航行值班与冰区导航任务。王富林作为轮机员，在机舱守护着动力系统的稳定运行。

目前，江苏航运职业技术学院已累计选派12名教师参与南北极科学考察任务。
