At 9:28 on 9 June, as the last steel truss member which weighs 571.5 tons was lifted and installed, the main bridge of theChongqi Road-Rail Yangtze River Bridgewas completed.

Chongqi Road-Rail Yangtze River Bridgeis 4.09 km long. Its main span is 400 meters. The upper level is a six-lane dual-way Class 1 highway whose design speed is 100 km/h, while the lower level includes a high-speed railway designed for a speed of 350 km/h and an intercity railway designed for a speed of 250 km/h. Upon completion, it will form a three-dimensional transportation pattern with cars running on the upper level and high-speed rail running on the lower level, making it China's first road-rail Yangtze River bridge with a high-speed rail design speed of 350 km/h.

The bridge is expected to be open for traffic in 2027. At that time, the travel time from Shanghai to Qidong by rail will be reduced from the current about 2.5 hours to less than 30 minutes.

6月9日9时28分，随着最后一段重达571.5吨的钢桁梁精准吊装到位，连接江苏启东与上海崇明的崇启公铁长江大桥主桥合龙。

崇启公铁长江大桥全长4.09公里，主跨400米，上层为设计时速100公里的双向六车道一级公路，下层为设计时速350公里的高速铁路和时速250公里的城际铁路。建成后将形成“上层跑汽车、下层跑高铁”的立体交通格局，是中国首座高铁设计时速350公里的公铁两用长江大桥。

大桥预计2027年具备通车条件。届时，上海至启东铁路通行时间将由目前约2.5小时压缩至30分钟以内。
