On 28 May, Nantong-South Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Enterprises Cooperation and Exchange Meeting was held in Nantong. Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency organized more than 20 Korean shipbuilding and offshore engineering supporting enterprises to visit Nantong enterprises including Wison New Energies and COSCO Shipyard Group, to promote the high-level and in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in shipbuilding and offshore engineering industry.

Shipbuilding and offshore engineering is one of the major industries in Nantong. Last year, its output value exceeded 220 billion yuan. There are leading ship enterprises such as Nantong COSCO Khi Ship Engineering, China Merchants Heavy Industry, and Wison Heavy Industry. The Korean enterprises which came this time have leading technological advantages in multiple fields in the world, which are highly aligned with Nantong’s needs to strengthen and complete its industrial chains, offering broad prospects for cooperation.

Nantong hopes that entrepreneurs from both sides will identify areas of synergy in technological exchanges, joint R&D, and industrial-chain collaboration, and share the development opportunities of China’s shipbuilding market. We also look forward to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency promoting and introducing Nantong to a wider audience, helping connect the city with more high-end talents and high-quality projects.
